Dr. Abby Larson studies the body in everyday life, as well sports and exercise. Since graduating with honors from Stanford (BA, MA) and earning her PhD at NYU, she has cultivated her research at UC Berkeley, Stanford, Harvard, and Rice Universities. She is a postdoc and visiting scholar in the Department of Sociology at NYU. Larson is currently advancing research at the Sports Performance Center at NYU and working on a book. Her research has been supported by sponsors including the National Science Foundation, and she has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Abby has also worked to establish and lead new initiatives at the university and in the private sector. Notably, she served as the inaugural Director for the Lui Idea Lab for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Rice University, and as Entrepreneur in Residence at the Samsung Accelerator in San Francisco.
