Dr. Abby Larson is a sociologist who graduated with honors from Stanford University (BA International Relations /MA Sociology) and earned her doctorate at New York University. Currently, she is Postdoc at the Department of Sociology at NYU where she is working on research related the sociology of the body, as well as sports performance.

Dr. Larson has cultivated her work through fellowships with U.C. Berkeley, Harvard, and Stanford. During her career, she has developed and taught courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

In conjunction with her research and teaching interests, Abby has helped to establish new initiatives at NYU, Stanford, and Rice University. Most recently, she served as the inaugural Director of the Liu Idea Lab for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Rice.
